Monticello Spring Bootcamp Registration Now Open

Monticello Bootcamp Logo
90  attendees, 5 seasons and 4 grant winners in the books, the Monticello Bootcamp program is coming back for a 6th round.

This program gives past, present and future entrepreneurs a snapshot of areas to consider when starting or running a business- areas that may or may not be on the forefront of the entrepreneur's mind.  Topics such as accounting, financials, taxes, advertising, social media, marketing, legal setup, credit, lending, and commercial leases are covered by regional speakers fluent in the topic.  New topics added this year include local resources and insurance requirements for any type of business.  The participants build their own business plan throughout the 5 week program, and those interested may present their business plan to a panel of judges and the class for feedback.  The presentations also allow for the entrepreneur to be able to explain, defend, and perhaps gauge readiness on their business idea- something often forgotten.

But wait, there's more!  Those eligible may also apply for a $5,000 grant towards opening their business in downtown Monticello.  The business must be new to downtown, or the person buying the existing business must not currently have a business.  There are other eligibility requirements, including being open 40 hours a week, have 1.5 FTE employees, and the individual must meet with a mentor for 6 months after opening.  For a complete description of the program, and to register, follow the link below:

Classes meet once a week for 5 weeks, on Tuesday evenings, beginning February 27th.  The classes are held at the Monticello Livingston Center, 224 E. Livingston, Monticello.  The program is free to attend, open to anyone, regardless of residency, or current or proposed business location.  Registration is required and can be done by following the link below.
