Junior Football League

2026 Junior Football League (Spring 2026 TBA)

This is a traveling competitive league for individuals in 5th - 8th grades only. We have a Lightweight 5th-6th grade team & a Heavyweight 7th-8th grade team. Playing time is not guaranteed in this league, league rules state that each player is only required to participate in each game if dressed.  Games take place on Weekend afternoons. Home games are played on the Monticello High School football field. Players who turn 13 on or before July 31st, 2026 must play in the Heavyweight Division. Players who turn 15 on or before July 31st, 2026 are ineligible to play. Practices begin on Monday, July 27th. Teams usually practice 5 nights a week for the first three weeks then cut back to 3-4 nights once game start. Games begin the weekend of August 15th and run through first weekend of October.  

All players Must live in the Monticello school district.  Players provide their own white pants with pads, mouth guard, rubber cleats, purple socks and practice jersey.  The City provides helmet, shoulder pads and game jersey.  

Age: Entering into 5th through 8th grade (2026-27 year) 

Cost: $135 participation fee

NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE TAKEN .  After you register, a few weeks later you will be sent all the information about date and time for equipment fittings which will take place in July.  Players must be present to get fitted for helmet and shoulder pads in July.  We do not do early fittings if you can’t make it the night, we do them you must schedule a time to get fitted after that date ahead of time.
