Project Overview: The City of Monticello purchased 30 acres on the west side of Monticello in 2009, with the intention of utilizing the land for future development of an outdoor recreation field complex. After several years of planning and design, the City Council approved phase 1 of the park's development in 2025, to include 1 multi-purpose field, 4 soccer fields, 2 baseball/softball fields, a multi-use path, and concession stand with restrooms.
Construction Dates: July 2025, anticipated completion summer, 2026. Open for use spring, 2027.
Project Updates:
(August, 2025)
-Installed storm drainage at the new entrance
-Installed road base for entry road which will allow construction traffic to come off Route 47.
-Storm water detention basin constructed
-Top soil placed over all playing surfaces
-Footings poured for both on-site buildings.
(August 25, 2025)
-Installed sanitary sewer
-Installing water line
-Fields having electrical installed
(September 9, 2025)
-Electrical, water and sanitary sewer have been installed
-Storm water being installed
-Parking lots are being constructed
-Building foundations have been poured.
(October 29, 2025)
-Fields having electrical installed
-Parking lots being built, front lot poured after the rain
-Building foundations are in
-Backstop and dugout and dugout fencing poles installed
-Infield shaped with fine grading.

Public Parking Lot "D" Rehabilitation (Market/Livingston)-
Project Overview: Pavement resurfacing and restriping. Also includes construction of a dumpster enclosure.
Construction Dates: 2025, anticipated completion fall, 2025.
