Landscape Waste Facility

The Landscape Waste Facility is open to the public as a means for “City of” Monticello residents to dispose of landscape waste at their convenience and without cost.  The facility is not available to residents who reside outside of City Limits  City limits can be identified at the following website https://maps.piattcounty.org/public/.

All debris should be dumped as close to the pile as possible.  Designated areas mark disposal sites for brush, leaves and grass clippings. No treated lumber, stumps or items over 12 inches in diameter are allowed. Dumping of non-landscape material into these areas is illegal and will result in closure of the facility by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

The facility is under 24 hour video surveillance

With leaves continuing to drop, the City will continue to have the Landscape Waste Facility open through December 6th.  If conditions worsen at the facility due to rain or lack of area for material to be deposited, we may have to close early, but we do not anticipate this being an issue.

Thank you,

Monticello Public Works Department
