"Ryder House"
Italianate Neo-Classic
This home was once the home of H.P. Martin who owned the H.P. Martin Department Store in Monticello. The Joseph Mackey family were later occupants. Originally designed as a square Italianate with a hip roof, the wings and porches were added for symmetry by Bradford and Jane Moore, giving the home a Neo-classical look. A two-level portico supports a prominent pediment. The detailing and railings have colonial influence.
